Problem Statement
My team and I were tasked to successfully translate an existing web experience into a mobile one for America’s Test Kitchen users nationwide. Working closely with their internal branding team, I managed a team of designers to devise and implement a visual system that fit naturally within ATK's existing brand. We accomplished this by synthesizing elements from the America’s Test Kitchen family of brands to create a mobile application that is optimized to the mobile experience, yet familiar to ATK’s existing customer base. We identified features that were core to the application and mapped out the intended user experience to ensure a successful implementation.
A major focus of the redesign was to enhance the search functionality to provide more filtering, auto complete capabilities, and smart suggestions based on user activity and trending recipes. The revamped search feature allows users to hone in on specific categories, cuisines, and content types, making it easier for users to find what they wanted more quickly.
